Popular Baby Names 2024, with Expression Numbers
This is the Social Security Administration's own top 1,000 girl names and 1,000 boy names of 2024, by how many babies received that name, next to each name's Expression number computed with the Lucid Numbers system. The Lucid Numbers system reads this value as a Birth Name Number: the number carried by the name a person is given at birth. Search a name below, or filter the table by sex or Expression number to see every name in the list that carries it. Each number card links to what that number means and the wider name library that carries it.
Retrieved from SSA on 2026-08-20. The name list and the counts are SSA's published data; the Expression number layer is computed here with the Lucid Numbers system. SSA does not endorse or reference numerology, and a name's Expression number does not predict anything about the child who carries it.

Questions about this list
Where does this list of popular baby names come from?
It is the U.S. Social Security Administration's own published data: the top 1,000 baby names for each sex in 2024, by how many babies received that name, retrieved August 20, 2026 from ssa.gov. SSA publishes the names and counts only.
Does the Social Security Administration compute Expression numbers?
No. SSA publishes name popularity data only. Every Expression number on this page is computed separately here, with the Lucid Numbers system, and SSA does not endorse or reference numerology in any way.
How is the rank on this page calculated?
SSA does not publish a rank column, only raw counts. Rank here is computed from those counts, descending within each sex. Names that share a count share a rank, and the next rank skips ahead by how many names tied above it.
Does a name's Expression number predict anything about a child?
No. An Expression number is a reflective pattern read from the letters in a name, not a prediction about who a child becomes or how their life unfolds. In the Lucid Numbers system a chart is a mirror, not a forecast.
Methodology & sources
- Names and counts: SSA national baby name data (names.zip -> yob2024.txt (top 1000 names per sex)), published at https://www.ssa.gov/oact/babynames/. Retrieved 2026-08-20.
- Rank: SSA publishes raw counts, not a rank column. The rank field here is computed from those published counts, descending within each sex, using competition ranking: names tied on count share the same rank, and the next rank skips ahead by the number of names tied above it.
- Numbers: Every Expression number is computed with lib/numerology-engine.js, the Lucid Numbers system. SSA does not compute or publish numerology figures.
